As we basked in the morning glow, we were graced by the presence of Hajeh Maha Abdo OAM, the CEO of Muslim Women Australia, adorned in pink during her morning walk. Hajeh Maha Abdo, a dear friend of the network, radiated God’s unwavering love. Her wisdom, infused with faith and heart, set an empowering tone for the picnic. Charishma Kaliyanda, the State Member for Liverpool, a true local with deep roots in the community since migrating as a young girl, shared laughter and reflected on the wonders of sisters connecting and sharing love.
The ambiance soared to greater heights as PWPBN friends, including Moderator, Uniting Church Synod NSW/ACT Rev Mata Havea, NSW Council for Pacific Communities Chair, Mal Fruean, Thelma Vuki, Joanne Matangi, and Minerva Patu, joined our guests. Some members of the Young Pacific Women Collective, including Mata, Salati and Sina, gathered for a delightful cup of coffee and indulged in a laughter-filled Yoga session. Several opted for a serene and therapeutic kayaking experience.
Sunrise Sisterhood was not only a beautiful display of solidarity, but also a testament to the strength and joy that emanate when women come together for a shared cause. The pink hues reflected not only in our attire but in the spirit of unity, empowerment, and sisterhood that painted the day with a touch of hope!
