Celebrating Women Leaders: IWD 2025

In honor of International Women’s Day 2025, we are thrilled to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible contributions of 30 Pacific women leaders.
This is our way of saying “thank you” and shining a light on their strength, resilience, and leadership.

Today, we celebrate an incredible young woman, Lydia Tofaeono, whose passion for helping others shines brightly in our community! For over three and a half years, Lydia has dedicated herself to the charity Prosper (Project Australia), tirelessly supporting disadvantaged women and children. From distributing food packs and Christmas gifts to sorting donations and assisting with events, her compassionate spirit knows no bounds.

Lydia’s commitment extends beyond charity work. Recently, she was part of the film crew for a powerful project addressing domestic violence, showcasing her talent and dedication to important social issues. Her creativity also shines through as she contributed to a children’s musical as part of the stage crew.

As a student at Meriden Anglican School for girls, Lydia is actively involved in a multitude of activities, including Cadets, Drill Squad, Football, Basketball, and the Media Team. Her love for sports is evident, especially her lifelong support for the Penrith Panthers, a team she’s cheered for since she was just 7 years old!

Lydia is also a passionate dancer, having trained at Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts for five years. Recently, she expanded her skills by completing a Barista course and is gaining valuable experience with a part-time job in hospitality.

Her recent trip to Samoa and the Pacific allowed her to reconnect with her roots and culture, fueling her dreams of future travels. With aspirations of becoming a sports reporter or a professional rugby league player, there’s no limit to what Lydia can achieve!

We’re incredibly proud of Lydia for being recognised at the NSW Women of the Year Awards in the ‘Ones to Watch’ category. This honor is a testament to her dedication, hard work, and the positive impact she has on those around her.

Keep shining, Lydia! Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish!

Stay tuned as we celebrate these inspiring women who continue to shape and lead our communities.
