In honor of International Women’s Day 2025, we are thrilled to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible contributions of 30 Pacific women leaders.
This is our way of saying “thank you” and shining a light on their strength, resilience, and leadership.
“Tiana Echegaray is an Australian amateur boxer with Cook Islands & Argentinian heritage. Her boxing journey began at 26 years old in 2019 when she started training for fitness. This initial interest quickly evolved into a passion and lifestyle. Not only was boxing benefiting her physically but it was challenging her mentally everyday, instilling discipline, confidence, resilience, positive daily habits etc. Boxing was changing her life!
After having her first amateur bout in April 2021, Tiana didn’t stop competing and striving to be the best in the country as her rapid rise was gaining recognition.
In 2022 & 2023 she claimed back to back Australian Titles at 54kg and later in 2023, Tiana won gold at the Pacific Games, securing her ticket to 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Tiana is a fine example of where hard work, dedication and self belief can take you no matter where you come from, no matter what field and despite starting later in life.”
