On Saturday, August 10th, around 30 women gathered for a powerful talanoa on cancer screening at the EFKS Fairfield Church, led by the Pacific Women Professional and Business Network (PWPBN). Faletua Michiko Kyoko Ete-Lima and the congregation women, along with community members, joined on the mat to talanoa and learn how to support each other and where to find help. The session was filled with heart-stopping stories, tears, and laughter, as experts including Doctor Paniani Patu, nurses Rozina Shekhar and Irene Loloma shared their knowledge supported by retired Multicultural Women’s Health Manager Sharda Jogia.

The PWPBN board is deeply grateful to Faletua Michi and the church for opening their doors for this essential conversation.

We’re excited to announce that the next event will be on September 21, celebrating the Screen and Save Project. Close to 200 women have already registered, recognising the importance of this initiative. We’re also thrilled to see men stepping forward, expressing their desire to participate and receive the same support. Let’s continue to screen and save lives together!
