Celebrating Women Leaders: IWD 2025

In honor of International Women’s Day 2025, we are thrilled to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible contributions of 30 Pacific women leaders.
This is our way of saying “thank you” and shining a light on their strength, resilience, and leadership.

“Saefaetele Tuivanu (Tele) is currently the supervisor for Emerton Youth Recreation Centre where she he has worked for the past 10 years. Tele is of Samoa and Cook Island descent.

The Centre delivers a variety of programs that serve the youth through sports, arts, cultural, and recreational activities. The program One of the key programs Tele manages is Mana a Pacifika, a cultural performing group for young people.

Tele is passionate about volunteering and being involved in community organizations such as Pacifika Moving and the Samoan Culture Community Arts Language Association. Recently, she volunteered for the PWPBN Cancer Screening Project, where she facilitated Healing Hula classes during information sessions for attendees

What she loves most about her work is being an integral part of young people’s lives. She has the privilege of watching them grow from primary school children to high school students and, eventually, to adults who bring their own children to the youth centre – ensuring that the next generation is also supported

Her message to others is to follow their dreams and passions, as everyone has a unique talent. Once you pursue what you’re truly passionate about, it no longer feels like work”

Stay tuned as we celebrate these inspiring women who continue to shape and lead our communities.
