CORE Pacific Collective’s Collaborative Approach to COVID-19 Response in Pacific Communities
The CORE Pacific Collective, comprising renowned Pasifika leaders Jioji Ravulo, Seini Afeaki, Malaemie Fruean, Donina Va’a, and Maherau Arona, continues to lead a culturally centred, community-led initiative addressing health needs during the COVID-19 pandemic across Pacific communities in New South Wales.
Young Tongan Women Preserve Traditional Culture
Spearheaded by Seini Afeaki, the Senior Advisor of PWPBN, supported by Akanesi Kaufusi, founder of Siuhuu, and Elizabeth Tuʻitavake, in collaboration with the Powerhouse Museum. Tongan experts, Siosi’ana ‘Uheina Kalaniuvalu and Tunaʻula Pahulu (from Langagonua ʻa Fefine Tonga), led the Ngafa a fafine traditional Workshop to preserve and revitalize Tongan cultural heritage.
